With one of the most memorable performances from a goalkeeper in an European Cup final, Rui Patrício was the inspiration for all the other portuguese players after Ronaldo came off and until Eder came on.

Eder, one of the most disliked players, played like he was the best striker of all time. Winning faults, yellow cards, and confidence. After a draw with no goals, the same happened in the first half of the Extra Time. But then, time stopped. Moutinho got the ball from Griezmann, he played it to William Carvalho. William passed it fast to Quaresma, and again to Moutinho...Eder, got the ball, far, far away from the goal. Eder ran with the ball, side by side with Koscielny, and laterally on the field. He left Koscielny behind, and when....he was in the center...with his eyes on the ball....he set all portuguese dreams and hopes free.
